My husband and I got engaged right before Christmas in 2019. We started planning our wedding fairly quickly with me pushing for a small destination wedding. We settled on a beach on the North Shore of Oahu for the end of May. However, we all know what happened that spring and our wedding plans hit the fan after that.

We (as in me) ended up planning four different versions of our wedding and in the end, it was absolutely perfect. Small and intimate on the top of Beartooth Pass in mid-August. The weather was everything we could have asked for and our friends and family members who attended still tell us how much fun they had!

All that being said, my wedding story was NOT the reason I got into wedding planning! I worked in higher education for about 13 years and spent many years planning events for students, alumni, and community members to attend. When I first started event planning, I was not a fan. But, after a career change, I realized first and foremost that I'm kinda good at it, and two, that I missed it.

​

Those realizations came to me after a friend gave me so encouraging nudges to break into the wedding planning side of events. So, in October of 2021, I took the leap and created Bitterroot and Blue and I couldn't be more grateful for it! My friends and family have been by my side encouraging me to continue forward because they can see how much joy wedding planning has brought into my life.

 I've been so fortunate to work with some amazing couples and have been so warmly brought into the mix of a very personal and meaningful day for them. I have seen the relief in so many couple's faces and watched them relax into their wedding day knowing it's going they way they wanted it to.
